Beaten but not disgraced.
Chapel scored early on when a looping cross come shot found the (big) net despite the best efforts of the once again outstanding Laurie Pote in nets.
New Mills took the game to Chapel but could not muster a clear shot on goal.
At half time the game was evenly poised and could so easily have gone either way. It was Chapel who scored again however from a tight angle intelligently into the roof of the net.
Try as they might New Mills had no luck and were loosing too many 50:50 balls in all areas.
As New Mills pressed Chapel would score again courteous of the impressive Zak up front.
It was a great game for a neutral and our thanks go to New Mills AFC for the unforgettable experience and also to Lee and the Chapel lads for being such worthy opponents.
More food for thought for training. We all need to knuckle down now and bring back the TEAM performances we all know we are capable of.
Attendance – 130 wet but noisy supporters ! Thank you all.
